Dave Raymond lives in rural Middle Tennessee with his wife and 6 children where he has taught the humanities for the past 20 years. He teaches the disciplines of history, literature, composition, and Latin through Quiller Tutorials. Latin, french, & Vocab
Dwane has been studying languages for most of his life. He grew up in Europe surrounded by the Dutch and German languages. For almost 20 years he has been teaching Latin in the classroom and, more recently, online. Dwane and his wife have five wonderful children whom they homeschooled. Dr. Wise earned his BA in geology from the University of Chicago, and his MA and PhD degrees in paleontology from Harvard University. He founded and directed the Center for Origins Research at Bryan College and taught biology there for 17 years. He then led the Center for Theology and Science at the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary for 3 years, before founding and directing the Center for Creation Research and teaching biology at Truett McConnell University for the last 7 years. His fieldwork has included research in early Flood rocks in the Death Valley region, late Flood rocks in Wyoming, and post-Flood caves in Tennessee. Jonathan Rogers is the author of The Terrible Speed of Mercy, one of the finest biographies of Flannery O’Connor we’ve ever read. His other books include the Wilderking Trilogy–The Bark of the Bog Owl, The Secret of the Swamp King, and The Way of the Wilderking–as well as The World According to Narnia and a biography of Saint Patrick. He has spent most of his adult life in Nashville, Tennessee, where he and his wife Lou Alice are raising a houseful of robustious children. He is featured in Grammar for Writers and Creative Writing.
Economics
Dr. R.C. Sproul, Jr. has taught philosophy and theology at Reformation Bible College, and been a teaching fellow for Ligonier Ministries. Since college, economics has been one of his primary areas of expertise. He delights in explaining how the glory of the gospel truth means that Jesus changes everything. He has eight children. Wesley Callihan grew up on a farm in Idaho and graduated in History from the University of Idaho in 1983. He has taught classics and the Great Books at Logos School in Moscow, Idaho; the University of Idaho; New St. Andrews College in Moscow, Idaho; and at Veritas Academy in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. A creative filmmaker who develops unique learning resources intended to advance the Kingdom of God. Thomas helped develop a classical-based curriculum, and taught philosophy, Old Testament, film and history at the American School of Lyon, France. Thomas studied English at Vanderbilt University and is a former Officer in the US Navy. He currently oversees Compass Classroom and Compass Cinema. Ben has taught Latin and the Humanities in Classical and Christian schools for 16 years. In addition to classroom and tutorial instruction, he has worked in school administration, curriculum development, and teacher training. Dr. Stokes (PhD, Notre Dame) is a senior fellow of philosophy at New St. Andrews College in Moscow, Idaho. In addition to studying philosophy under world-renowned philosopher Alvin Plantinga, Stokes holds degrees in philosophy, religion and mechanical engineering, and holds five patents in aeroderivative gas turbine technology. Francis A. Schaeffer—an American Evangelical theologian, philosopher, and Presbyterian pastor—is most famous for his writings and his establishment of the L’Abri community in Switzerland. Opposed to theological modernism, Shaeffer promoted an orthodox Protestant faith and a pre-suppositional approach to Christian apologetics, which he believed would answer the questions of the age. Bonnie Kookogey is the mother of six children whom she homeschools with her husband, Kevin. Bonnie and Kevin have taught, led, and mentored students and parents in the homeschool community for 19 years. Bonnie graduated with a Bachelor of Science (Nursing) in 1987 from West Chester University, West Chester, PA, and she earned her Master’s Degree in 1991 from St. Joseph’s University in Philadelphia, PA. Bonnie worked initially as a registered nurse and was then licensed as a Nurse Anesthetist, practicing in both Philadelphia and Nashville for ten years. Biblical Archaeology
Dr. Petrovich earned a PhD from the University of Toronto, with a major in Syro-Palestinian archaeology, a first minor in ancient Egyptian language, and a second minor in ancient Near Eastern religions. He formerly was the academic dean and a professor at Novosibirsk Biblical-Theological Seminary (Siberia, Russia), as well as at Shepherds Theological Seminary (Cary, North Carolina), having taught over 30 different courses. Dr. Petrovich’s research interests include biblical history and exegesis, Egyptology, and ancient Near Eastern history. He teaches Ancient Egypt at Wilfrid Laurier University (Waterloo, Canada). College
Libby was homeschooled through high school and graduated with an English degree from Union University in 2024. She has a deep love for education and has taught in several different educational settings, including online courses and a homeschool tutorial. She currently teaches at a local Classical school. Literature
Maggie graduated from Covenant College in 1996 with a degree in Elementary Education. She spent several years in the classroom, including working at Vienna Christian School in Austria. She helped her husband, Thomas, establish The American School of Lyon in France in 2000-2001. Since then, she has homeschooled her own 3 children; her oldest graduated high school in May 2020 and will be attending Samford University. Carole is a veteran homeschool mother, conference speaker, and consultant. With a Master’s degree in Education, she has taught in preschool, elementary, and junior high classrooms in both public and Christian schools. Dr. Whitmore is senior professor of geology at Cedarville University and has been teaching there since 1991.
