Updates are Happening…
Please be aware that we are finishing updates to the class based on feedback from last year’s students. We’ve already updated Lessons 1 to 18 but will continue to finish these in the next few weeks. Since the first semester is finished, it shouldn’t affect anyone starting the class this semester. However, we did want you to know about a lot of the improvements:
- We are separating out the class from 15 chapters into 32 lessons to make it easier to follow over a year.
- We are creating extended lab instructions that provide far more detail in doing the labs.
- We are adding in new vocabulary and content quizzes.
- We are updating the short answer questions so that they are more grade appropriate for a 9th/10th grade level.
If you have our printed lab manual, that information is still accurate. However, you may find the new PDF downloads of the lab instructions found on the lab steps an easier explanation of the steps. You can choose whichever you prefer.
As for the short answer questions in the back of each chapter, we would recommend that you use the ones in this class instead. Again, you’re welcome to use the ones in the back of the chapter – but be aware that they are far more extensive and some are rather difficult. (Kurt’s book is used at both high school and college level, and the questions are therefore at both levels.)
We hope these improvements make the class even better. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask them in the Biology Group.
