Description
This eight session live class will be a combination of lecture and Q&A. Each session will include time for explaining various topics as well as time for students and parents to ask questions. The goal of this class is to help explain the current college landscape from a Christian perspective.
The class will be held on Zoom on Mondays from 2:30 to 3:30pm CST. Â It begins Monday, Sep 16 and continues weekly through Monday, Nov 4. If you already have a Compass Membership at the Bronze, Silver, or Gold level, this class will be included free in your membership.
The class will be taught by Libby Purifoy, a senior English major at Union University, a Christian college in Jackson, Tennessee. She was homeschooled through high school so knows firsthand what the transition between home and college for a homeschooled student feels like.
Since starting college, she has transferred universities once and switched majors multiple times. She’s gone to schools both near and far from home; she’s juggled 18 hours of classes while working up to 25 hours a week as a Residence Advisor; she’s cooked for herself because of allergies; and she’s had to navigate difficult roommate situations.
Overall, Libby has grown in her relationship with Christ through her college experience. She is excited to share what she’s learned so other students can prepare themselves to succeed in college.
