What are the system requirements for using the Compass Membership?

You will need Internet access and a device with a modern Web browser. Ad blocking software can cause problems when viewing the videos. Please add mycompassclassroom.com to your whitelist to enjoy playback.

How does the Membership differ from digital products?

Compass has offered digital products for individual sale for several years. The streaming format is a convenient way to access courses on multiple devices. The Compass Membership is a subscription service which gathers all of our digital products into a single recurring charge. Families have the flexibility to use multiple courses—in whole or in part—for each child during the school year.

Do new products get added to the Membership?

Yes, we regularly release new products to increase the value of your Compass Membership. Some of our recent products include Calculus for Everyone, Strange New World, Philosophy: Consequences of Ideas, Creation Science, and The Story of Great Music.

These products were all added without directly increasing the subscription price. Compass Classroom reserves the right to periodically increase the going rate to new customers, but existing subscribers enjoy all the new benefits at the same rate as when they signed up.

Are all your courses included in the Membership?

All our digital products are included in your Compass Membership. We also sell some courses exclusively for our partners—Western Culture, Introductory & Intermediate Logic, and Fitting Words. These are not available in the Compass Membership.

Why don't you offer a trial on the Silver or Gold Memberships?

Our BRONZE Membership trial gives everyone access to our popular courses from master teachers. The SILVER and GOLD Memberships offer additional services that support students and families homeschooling those courses.

We think Course Facilitation, Family Access, and Grading will be blessings to your homeschool. If you aren’t completely satisfied, however, you may contact us within your first month of a new Membership tier and we will be happy to cancel the subscription and refund your upgrade cost. We are unable to issue refunds beyond that first month because the costs of those services are ongoing.

Will my Membership price change if your advertised price goes up?

No. As long as you maintain an active subscription, you will receive the Compass Membership at the price advertised when purchased. If you cancel your subscription and wish to access the content again, you will need to purchase a Compass Membership at the current price.

I already purchased one of your courses. Do I need the Compass Membership?

No, but you may find value in subscribing to the Course Facilitation and Grading services in the Compass Membership to go along with your existing DVD or digital product.

How do subscription licenses work?

BRONZE subscriptions are licensed only to a single student. SILVER and GOLD Memberships provide our Family Access feature that grants licenses to an additional 4 members of your household.

If you are leading a co-op or tutorial and plan to use one of the courses in your Compass Membership, we ask that all participating families purchase the course, either through their own Compass Membership, or as a standalone DVD or digital purchase. We make this easy with generous group, co-op and school discounts. Visit our Group & Co-op discount page for more information.

Can my kids track their progress separately?

Yes, our SILVER and GOLD Memberships offer four student accounts! These enable your kids to track their progress separately. Just invite them from your Family Sharing Dashboard and assign the courses you’d like them to use.

How do I access Facilitation?

Facilitation takes place in groups related to each course. SILVER and GOLD Memberships can join these groups here. Once our team sets up access, you will see them in My Groups, along with schedules, directions for joining discussions, and more resources.

How do I submit course work for Grading?

Grading is accessible in groups related to each course at GOLD level. Once our team sets up access, you will see them in the My Groups tab, along with schedules, directions for joining discussions, and more resources. Written directions for submitting work and viewing posted grades will be provided by the group facilitator.

How can I view the details of my subscription?

Once you’ve logged in to your Compass Classroom account, go to “Subscription Settings” on the left-hand menu. Click “Manage” on the desired subscription and you will see information about your subscription on the profile page that loads.  You can see the product, start date, billng amount, and next billing date of your subscription. Contact us if you have any questions.

What if I don’t like the product or the service?

We offer a comprehensive satisfaction guarantee as follows:

We want our customers to be happy with every purchase they make from Compass Classroom. If you are not completely satisfied with your purchase, you may return items within 30 days of the invoice date for an exchange, credit, or refund as determined by our staff. Refund/return requests after 30 days will be honored at our discretion.

If you are unsatisfied with your Compass Membership, you may request a refund during the first paid month of your monthly subscription, or during the first month of your paid annual subscription.

How do I cancel my Membership?

Once you’ve logged in to your Compass Classroom account, go to “Subscription Settings” on the left-hand menu. Click “Manage” on the desired subscription and “Cancel This Subscription” on the subscription profile that loads. Contact us if you have any difficulty canceling your subscription. You will have access to the content until the end of your current billing period.

What happens after I cancel my Membership?

You will no longer have access to the Membership content or services at the end of that billing period.

How do subscriptions differ from digital products?

Subscriptions differ from their digital counterparts in how you pay for them. Rather than pay the entire product price on the day of purchase, you pay the recurring monthly charge as advertised. Digital describes content, and subscription describes the payment method.

Do new products get added to the subscription?

Absolutely! We plan to regularly release new products to increase the value of our Membership. In fact, recently we’ve added How Should We Then Live?, Philosophy – Consequences of Ideas, Creation Science, and The Story of Great Music.

Are subscriptions enabled for all of your products?

Not yet, but we plan to make regular increases in our catalog. New products will be developed with a subscription model in mind. The Compass Classroom Membership provides access to most of our subscription catalog in one product.

Will my subscription price change if the store’s advertised price increases?

No. As long as you maintain an active subscription, you will receive the subscription product at the price posted when purchased. If you cancel your subscription and wish to access the content again, you will need to purchase a subscription at the current price.

If I have already purchased a curricular item, do I need to purchase it again as a subscription?

No. We’re not providing any disruption to our valued customers. We’re simply providing an affordable way to integrate some of our other products into your homeschool.

You may, however, find value in purchasing a subscription in addition to your physical or downloadable product. Subscription products are as mobile as your Internet-ready devices. Going on a trip as part of your American History study? Take your phone or tablet and leave the DVDs at home!
