About Paul

Paul Michael graduated from Covenant College in 2024 with a double major in History and English. Previously he attended Franklin Classical School and graduated in 2020. He has worked as a writing tutor in the Covenant College Writing Center, and is currently pursuing a Masters in the Art of Teaching in History through Covenant College.

He can help your student not only develop better writing habits, but focus on the important parts of making a paper readable. Rather than simply correct errors, he intends to teach your student how to evaluate his or her own writing.

Paul’s Expertise

• Mechanics: Observing and learning the specifics of grammar, punctuation and spelling that you need.
• Structure: Developing the framework for creativity at both the sentence and paragraph levels.
• Readability: Guiding your reader through signposting transitions between paragraphs and ideas.

How Tutoring Works

1. Choose the amount of tutoring time to purchase using the drop-down menu above and Add to Cart.
2. After check out, you will receive an immediate email with a link to schedule the appointment(s) on the tutor’s calendar.
3. Your tutor may be in touch with additional information ahead of the appointment.

How Much Time Do I Need?

The short answer is “It depends.” When you book your appointment, you will also be given a short form where you can specify the project(s) or areas you want to focus on with your student, as well as anything else you want to tell us about the circumstances, context, or needs your student might have.

For your first session, expect to use 15 minutes of the hour going over your intake questions and developing a strategy for meeting your student’s needs. There may need to be revisions of this strategy during parts of subsequent sessions. This is to give you the opportunity to develop a relationship with the tutor with your student’s success in mind.

Our program intends to spend time working with you and your student, but everything must happen during these paid sessions. If you have any questions about this, please contact our program director.
